In 2004, Ed Rios and John Stryker started Custom Designed Controls, LLC in the small town of Toccoa, GA. Both with experience and vast resources in the Electrical and Building Controls Industry, the company morphed from nothing and quickly became a recognized leader in the Integrated Power and Controls Industry. The first six years found substantial growth and good challenges emerged. CD Controls® (referred to by most peers in our industry) needed more room to ‘spread the wings’ and in 2010 built a new manufacturing facility in Lavonia, GA. The city of Lavonia is settled less than an hour south of the Blue Ridge Mountains, slightly northeast of Atlanta, and just west of Lake Hartwell on the GA/SC State Line.
Mainly focusing on the Supermarket Industry from the beginning, the company prospered and more key individuals were continually added to the team throughout the years. Each team member brings their own experience and resources to help reach our common goal.
In 2015, we branded and trademarked our integrated product. This became the EWALL® – A Custom Designed Power and Controls Product. We also branded our successful EMS /BAS product – the ECONTROL™. As success continued, CD Controls® started to dive into other markets such as C-store, QSR, Big Box Retail, and other Commercial markets to find exigencies for our products and services. During this time, CD Controls® discovered the C-Store market needed a solution for a demand and the EFUEL® product was born. Currently the EWALL/EFUEL® combo is installed in over 200 C-Store and Grocery Fuel Kiosk locations nationwide per year.
2024 – We celebrated 20 years!
2025 – CD Controls® was nominated and voted as The Top Integrated Switchgear Manufacturer in 2025 by Electrical Business Review.
As we celebrate and honor our successes and achievements, we will not slow down. We continue to see aggressive store growth on a wide spectrum across all industries, and our presence will only get bigger to meet the demands in each market.
